Kinesio-taping
is a method utilizing flexible, water resistant tape
applied to the skin in specific patterns designed to
re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, enhance
performance, prevent injury, and promote improved circulation
and healing. Unlike athletic tape which is used to restrict
joint movement in order to provide stabilization, kinesio-tape
is flexible and provides light support without movement
restriction, and a constant reminder of how you are
(or should be) moving your body. In combination with
massage, Kinesiotaping can help support the results
of your session over the course of 3-5 days. It has
applications for many conditions ranging from repetitive
stress injuries and postural distortions to headaches
and plantar fascitis.
Our Kinesiotape specialist, Barton Marks,
brings a strong background in anatomy,
kinesiology, and athletic training to
his Kinesiotape sessions.
Each session lasts 15-25 minutes and
includes consultation, assessment and
taping of a target area. $30
